OAK HAMMOCK GRACE PACKS (Formed October 2011-Current)
At Oak Hammock, our own Cafeteria Manager, Jessica Harrod, has been in contact with Publix Corporation on behalf of our Grace Packs program for possible food donations. Her work may indeed help us at other schools. Private individuals from the community continue to donate financially to purchase food items that will fill our pantry's shelves. Currently, the West St. Lucie Elks Lodge #2823 has been donating a beautiful variety of food items to Oak Hammock K-8 School and West Gate K-8 School’s Grace Packs programs. Since the onset of the year, the Elks have donated $3,000.00 worth of food between our two schools. A fundraiser at Brushing on Bisque in Tradition on November 2nd raised $170.88 to help with the purchasing of food for Grace Packs.Mr. Ochacher
sponsored a Jersey Day and raised $693 on November 7th at Oak Hammock and they raised over $650. Mrs. Isenhower and her band students and
families have set a goal of collecting 900 cans of Chef Boyardee products by this year’s Winter Concerts. A competition between class periods to collect the
most food is happening now! Which class will win? Mrs. Kathleen Donnell’s class, under the guidance and expertise of Mrs. Donnell, will design a Grace
Packs website, a unique and one of a kind student project that will help spread the word in our community on behalf of Grace Packs in St Lucie County
Schools.
