Program History: Grace Packs began at Oak Hammock on October 7, 2011. During the 2011-2012 school year, 672 Grace Packs were given to allay student hunger. During the 2012-2013 school year, 1,344 Grace Packs were given. In the past two school years, with Grace Packs being provided, the incidents of students visiting the school clinic on Mondays complaining of headaches and stomach aches have dramatically diminished due to food being provided over the weekends. Grace Packs exists through school and local community support and engagement.
Did You Know? Did you know that many students do not want to go home from school because there is a lack of food at home? Some students visit the school clinic on Mondays complaining of stomach aches and headaches. These illnesses often are because the children have had little food over the weekend.
Is Grace Packs a cause you would like to be a part of? Would you consider partnering with us in this worthy cause?
You as our community partner can make an impact!
